Mandatory statutory retention obligations remain unaffected.
Usercentrics is used to obtain the legally required consent for the use of cookies. The legal basis is Article 6(1), first sentence, point (c) GDPR.
Data processing agreement
We have entered into a data processing agreement with Usercentrics. This is an agreement required by data protection law that ensures Usercentrics processes our website visitors' personal data only in accordance with our instructions and the GDPR.

If you send us an enquiry using the contact form, the information you provide in it, including your contact details, will be stored by us to process the enquiry and in case of follow-up questions. We do not pass on this data without your consent.
This data is processed on the basis of Article 6(1)(b) GDPR if your enquiry relates to performance of a contract or is necessary to take steps before entering into a contract. In all other cases, processing is based on our legitimate interest in effectively handling enquiries addressed to us under Article 6(1)(f) GDPR, or on your consent under Article 6(1)(a) GDPR if requested.
Data entered in the contact form remains with us until you request its deletion, withdraw consent to storage or the purpose of storage no longer applies, for example after your enquiry has been fully handled. Mandatory legal provisions, in particular retention periods, remain unaffected.

5. Analytics tools and advertising
Google Analytics
This website uses functions of the Google Analytics web analytics service. The provider is Google Ireland Limited (“Google”), Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland.
Google Analytics uses cookies, which are text files stored on your computer that allow your use of the website to be analysed. Information generated by the cookie about your use of this website is generally transmitted to a Google server in the USA and stored there.
The storage of Google Analytics cookies and use of this analytics tool are based on Article 6(1)(f) GDPR. The website operator has a legitimate interest in analysing user behaviour to optimise both the website and its advertising. If consent has been requested, for example to store cookies, processing takes place exclusively on the basis of Article 6(1)(a) GDPR; consent may be withdrawn at any time.
IP anonymisation
We have enabled IP anonymisation on this website. As a result, Google truncates your IP address within Member States of the European Union or other contracting states to the Agreement on the European Economic Area before transmission to the USA. Only in exceptional cases is the full IP address transmitted to a Google server in the USA and truncated there. On behalf of the website operator, Google uses this information to evaluate your use of the website, compile reports on website activity and provide other services relating to website and internet use to the website operator. The IP address transmitted by your browser as part of Google Analytics is not combined with other Google data.
Browser plug-in
You can prevent cookies from being stored by adjusting your browser settings; however, you may then be unable to use all website functions in full. You can also prevent Google from collecting and processing data generated by the cookie relating to your use of the website, including your IP address, by downloading and installing the browser plug-in available here: https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout?hl=de.
Objecting to data collection
You can prevent Google Analytics from collecting your data by clicking the following link. An opt-out cookie is set to prevent collection during future visits to this website: Disable Google Analytics.
For more information about how Google Analytics handles user data, see Google's privacy information: https://support.google.com/analytics/answer/6004245?hl=de.
Processing on our behalf
We have entered into a data processing agreement with Google and fully implement the strict requirements of German data protection authorities when using Google Analytics.
Demographics in Google Analytics
This website uses the Google Analytics demographics feature. This allows reports containing information about visitors' age, gender and interests to be created. The data comes from Google's interest-based advertising and third-party visitor data. It cannot be attributed to a particular person. You can disable this feature at any time in the advertising settings of your Google account, or generally prohibit Google Analytics from collecting your data as described under “Objecting to data collection”.
Retention period
User-level and event-level data stored by Google and linked to cookies, user identifiers such as user IDs, or advertising IDs such as DoubleClick cookies or Android advertising IDs is anonymised or deleted after 14 months. Details are available here: https://support.google.com/analytics/answer/7667196?hl=de.
Google Analytics Remarketing
This website uses Google Analytics Remarketing in conjunction with the cross-device functions of Google Ads and Google DoubleClick. The provider is Google Ireland Limited (“Google”), Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland.
This feature links advertising audiences created with Google Analytics Remarketing to the cross-device functions of Google Ads and Google DoubleClick. Interest-based, personalised advertising messages tailored to your previous use and browsing behaviour on one device, such as a mobile phone, can therefore also be displayed on another device, such as a tablet or PC.
If you have given the relevant consent, Google links your web and app browsing history to your Google account for this purpose. The same personalised advertising messages can then be displayed on every device on which you sign in to your Google account.
To support this feature, Google Analytics collects Google-authenticated user IDs, which are temporarily linked to our Google Analytics data to define and create audiences for cross-device advertising.
You can permanently object to cross-device remarketing and targeting by disabling personalised advertising at: https://www.google.com/settings/ads/onweb/.
Data collected in your Google account is combined exclusively on the basis of your consent, which you can give or withdraw with Google under Article 6(1)(a) GDPR. Where collected data is not combined in your Google account, for example because you have no Google account or have objected to combining it, collection is based on Article 6(1)(f) GDPR. The legitimate interest arises from the website operator's interest in anonymised analysis of visitors for advertising purposes.
Further information and the relevant privacy provisions are available in Google's privacy information at: https://policies.google.com/technologies/ads?hl=de.
Google Ads and Google Conversion Tracking
This website uses Google Ads, an online advertising program from Google Ireland Limited (“Google”), Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland.
As part of Google Ads, we use conversion tracking. When you click an advertisement served by Google, a conversion tracking cookie is set. Cookies are small text files stored by the internet browser on the user's computer. These cookies expire after 30 days and do not serve to identify users personally. If a user visits certain pages of this website before the cookie expires, Google and we can recognise that the user clicked the advertisement and was redirected to this page.
Every Google Ads customer receives a different cookie. Cookies cannot be tracked across Google Ads customers' websites. Information collected using the conversion cookie is used to compile conversion statistics for Google Ads customers who have chosen conversion tracking. Customers learn the total number of users who clicked their advertisement and were redirected to a page with a conversion tracking tag, but receive no information allowing personal identification. If you do not wish to participate in tracking, you can object by disabling the Google conversion tracking cookie in your internet browser's user settings. You will then not be included in conversion tracking statistics.
The storage of conversion cookies and use of this tracking tool are based on Article 6(1)(f) GDPR. The website operator has a legitimate interest in analysing user behaviour to optimise both the website and advertising. If consent has been requested, for example to store cookies, processing takes place exclusively on the basis of Article 6(1)(a) GDPR; consent may be withdrawn at any time.
For more information about Google Ads and Google Conversion Tracking, see Google's privacy policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy?hl=de.
You can configure your browser to notify you when cookies are set and allow them only in individual cases, reject cookies in specific cases or generally, and delete cookies automatically when the browser closes. Disabling cookies may restrict this website's functionality.
Facebook Pixel
This website uses Facebook's visitor action pixel to measure conversions. The provider is Facebook Ireland Limited, 4 Grand Canal Square, Dublin 2, Ireland. According to Facebook, the data collected is also transferred to the USA and other third countries.
This allows visitors' behaviour to be tracked after they have clicked a Facebook advertisement and been redirected to the provider's website. It enables the effectiveness of Facebook advertisements to be evaluated for statistical and market research purposes and future advertising to be optimised.
The data collected is anonymous to us as the website operator; we cannot identify users from it. However, Facebook stores and processes it so that it can be linked to the respective user profile and used by Facebook for its own advertising purposes in accordance with Facebook's data use policy. This enables Facebook to display advertisements on Facebook pages and elsewhere. We, as the website operator, cannot influence this use of the data.
Use of Facebook Pixel is based on Article 6(1)(f) GDPR. The website operator has a legitimate interest in effective advertising, including social media advertising. If consent has been requested, for example to store cookies, processing takes place exclusively on the basis of Article 6(1)(a) GDPR; consent may be withdrawn at any time.
Further information about protecting your privacy is available in Facebook's privacy information: https://de-de.facebook.com/about/privacy/.
You can also disable the “Custom Audiences” remarketing function in your advertising settings at https://www.facebook.com/ads/preferences/?entry_product=ad_settings_screen. You must be logged into Facebook to do this.
If you do not have a Facebook account, you can disable Facebook's usage-based advertising on the European Interactive Digital Advertising Alliance website: http://www.youronlinechoices.com/de/praferenzmanagement/.
6. Newsletter
Newsletter data
If you wish to receive the newsletter offered on the website, we require your email address and information allowing us to verify that you own that email address and agree to receive the newsletter. No further data is collected except on a voluntary basis. We use this data exclusively to send the requested information and do not pass it to third parties.
Data entered in the newsletter registration form is processed exclusively on the basis of your consent under Article 6(1)(a) GDPR. You can withdraw consent to storage of the data and email address and their use to send the newsletter at any time, for example using the unsubscribe link in the newsletter. Withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of processing already carried out.
Data you provide for receiving the newsletter is stored by us or the newsletter service provider until you unsubscribe, and is deleted from the newsletter mailing list after unsubscription. Data stored by us for other purposes remains unaffected.
After you unsubscribe from the mailing list, your email address may be stored by us or the newsletter service provider on a blacklist to prevent future mailings. Blacklist data is used only for this purpose and is not combined with other data. This serves both your interest and our interest in complying with legal requirements when sending newsletters, a legitimate interest within the meaning of Article 6(1)(f) GDPR. Blacklist storage is not time-limited. You may object to storage if your interests outweigh our legitimate interest.
7. Plug-ins and tools
Google Web Fonts
This website uses web fonts provided by Google to display fonts consistently. Google Fonts are installed locally; no connection is made to Google servers for this purpose.
8. eCommerce and payment providers
Processing data: customer and contract data
We collect, process and use personal data only insofar as it is necessary to establish, define the content of or amend the legal relationship (master data). This is based on Article 6(1)(b) GDPR, which permits processing to perform a contract or take steps before entering into one. We collect, process and use personal data relating to use of this website (usage data) only to the extent necessary to enable the user to use the service or to bill for it.
Customer data collected is deleted after completion of the order or termination of the business relationship. Statutory retention periods remain unaffected.
Data transfer when concluding contracts for services and digital content
We transfer personal data to third parties only where necessary to perform the contract, for example to the bank responsible for processing payments.
No further data is transferred unless you have expressly consented. Your data is not passed to third parties without express consent, for example for advertising purposes.
The legal basis for processing is Article 6(1)(b) GDPR, which permits processing to perform a contract or take steps before entering into one.
9. Our own services
Handling applicant data
We offer you the opportunity to apply for a position with us, for example by email, post or an online application form. The following explains the scope, purpose and use of personal data collected during the application process. We assure you that your data is collected, processed and used in accordance with applicable data protection law and all other legal provisions, and is treated as strictly confidential.
Scope and purpose of data collection
When you submit an application, we process the related personal data, such as contact and communications details, application documents and interview notes, insofar as necessary to decide whether to establish an employment relationship. The legal bases are section 26 of the revised German Federal Data Protection Act (BDSG-neu), for initiating an employment relationship; Article 6(1)(b) GDPR, for general contract initiation; and Article 6(1)(a) GDPR if you have given consent. Consent may be withdrawn at any time. Within our company, your personal data is disclosed only to persons involved in processing your application.
If your application is successful, the data you submitted is stored in our data processing systems to perform the employment relationship on the basis of section 26 BDSG-neu and Article 6(1)(b) GDPR.
Data retention period
If we cannot offer you a position, you reject an offer or you withdraw your application, we reserve the right to retain the data you submitted for up to six months after the application process ends through rejection or withdrawal, based on our legitimate interests under Article 6(1)(f) GDPR. The data is then deleted and physical application documents destroyed. Retention serves in particular as evidence in the event of a legal dispute. If it is apparent that the data will be needed after the six-month period, for example because of an impending or pending legal dispute, it is deleted only when the purpose of further retention no longer applies.
Longer retention is also possible if you have given the relevant consent under Article 6(1)(a) GDPR or if statutory retention obligations prevent deletion.
